Quick Quilt–TUTORIAL coming! from Wedding Dress Blue

I am sure I saw a similar idea somewhere online, but this is my version. It uses the NO POINT STARS made famous by cluck-cluck-sew, resized to make a perfect 36″ baby quilt.

It went together quickly, and I enjoyed it so much I am making some variations and size suggestions into a tutorial. If you have charm packs or a layer cake laying around, it might be just the idea.

Friday Finish: Winnie the Pooh Baby Quilt from Patchwork Sampler Blog

There is a miscellaneous basket of UFOs sitting in my basement family room. There are just random projects in various states of completion and last month I decided they need to go. I didn’t even go through the basket, but by the end of the year, I hope to donate, sell, trash, or complete (and donate) everything in there.

This is the first project and I am happy to say it is finished! This is a variation of the Quick Strippie pattern from maryquilts.com.

I had one charm pack and one yard of the Pooh fabric. For the ...

Couch Quilt Top Finished from Wedding Dress Blue

Our front room needs updating generally, and a quilt seemed a great way to get started.

Inspired by THIS TUTORIAL, I used a different layout.

In some ways it is different for me with a neutral palate and relatively large pieces.

But still scrappy all the way with nearly 100 different fabrics represented.

Visible Progress from Wedding Dress Blue

With four quilts active and all more or less in the same piece-till-doomsday phase, it was encouraging to push one forward a complete step.

With only 8 blocks to do, it became my main project for the weekend, and I informed Husband there would be extra sewing time (He is such a good sport).

The blocks were not only finished, but started layout.

And decided on one I am happy with. A few more adjustments and I hope to have a finished top to share by the end of the week.

PS–Here is the link to the tutorial: https ...

Boy’s Quilt : Tonka Truck from Sewing Under the Little Mushroom Cap

A finished quilt always deserves a post right?

So here is another June 2021 finish. This quilt top started way back when I was still pregnant with my third child. She is now 10 months old. So, the quilt kind of took its time to get to the finish line.

I blogged about piecing the quilt back here in this post.

Welcome Home Again from Wedding Dress Blue

This is the third Welcome Home top finished for donation.

They are quick and each–all 2-1/2″ strips and only 48 blocks. You can get all the details HERE: TUTORIAL: Welcome Home Quilt Block – Wedding Dress Blue (wordpress.com)

I like the scrappy happy look, but it is easy to see a more controlled color scheme could be used for wedding quilts, quilts of valor or just about any occasion.

Pushing towards a finish soon.

Finishing the Low Volume Quilt from From My Carolina Home

When we left off the Low Volume Quilt, I had the top made and was ready to quilt it. I loaded it on the longarm and auditioned thread colors. It might have been nice quilted in pink, but I didn’t have pink cotton thread. I think kid quilts should be quilted with cotton rather than polyester thread. So, I chose to do it in white cotton thread, with Warm and Natural all cotton batting. The backing is the same dot print as the border.

I still had the pantograph called Pansies from Urban Elementz on the longarm machine from ...

Low Volume Quick Quilt from From My Carolina Home

These pretty pastels were part of a box of fabrics that a friend of mine was destashing. I thought they were lovely, soft and perfect for a little quilt for charity.

I originally planned to write this up for a guest blogger post for another blogging event, but I changed my mind and decided to show it here. I actually started it a couple of weeks ago during a Zoom Virtual Retreat.

This is an easy and fast way to put together a quilt top, just sew long width of fabric strips together in any width you want. These are ...

Quick Quilt Top : Kids Truck Quilt from Sewing Under the Little Mushroom Cap

A quick quilt top finish is always a great project in between other quilts and when you are lost searching for that quilting mojo.

I haven’t been active here on the blog or on my other platform due to my low energy (I am pregnant with my 3rd Baby) and other focuses that seem to be taking over these days.

Things are a little better with my health, but my quilting mojo is still yet to be recovered. I am in nesting mode and have been spending my spare time decluttering everywhere around my home. Well, that is where ...

Super Cute, Super Simple Finish from Needle and Foot

You know how you set something aside for so long and then somehow your mind decides it is going to take forever to finish it and you don’t want to so you just leave it there? Yeah, me too. Last fall I pieced a cute strip quilt using a focus print from Pandalicious. I had yardage in the shop and thought it would be fun to make one and then make up some kits for others to make it.

Last September…….

So I made up the quilt top and got it basted. I started to free motion quilt each ...
